Standing By Faith On The Word Of God

“By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.” — Hebrews 11:3 NKJV

If you are familiar with the Bible, you know how God formed this universe. He spoke. He could have done it any other way. After all, He is God, and He has an unlimited amount of ways to do anything! But He used His words. He said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. He spoke the heavens, the earth, and all that is in them into being simply by speaking. Psalm 33:6 says it this way: “The Lord merely spoke, and the heavens were created. He breathed the word, and all the stars were born” (NLT).

We are standing on a world that God spoke into being. Adam and Eve found their feet standing on soil that God created with His words. All these years later, we are still standing on it. His word is true, and therefore when He speaks, reality is created. When God speaks, whatever He says happens. You can be an atheist, you can be a satanist, you can deny God’s existence all day long, but at the end of the day you are raging against reality. Why? Because you are still standing on a world that He spoke into being.

Faith is not putting your trust in something you hope will happen, or that you would like to see change. Faith is putting your trust in God’s Word and watching what you are believing for come to pass in this life. God has promises for you in His word. These promises are as solid as the ground you’re standing on, and in fact, they are even more solid than that! That is why Jesus said, “Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away” (Matthew 24:35 NKJV). That is why the Psalmist said, “Forever, O Lord, Your word is settled in heaven” (Psalm 119:89 NKJV). That is why Isaiah said, “The grass withers, the flower fades, But the word of our God stands forever” (Isaiah 40:8 NKJV). God speaks and creates reality. And as Reinhard Bonkke said, “The Word of God is just as powerful in our mouths as it is in His.” Declare His Word today and see His eternal power unleashed in your life.
